Guest Albie Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Wonder if anyone can help. I have today received a Nemerix Bluetooth GPS Receiver for use with Tom Tom 5 on my C500. The problem I have is that I cannot seem to get the pairing working correctly. I am able to see the GPS device when searching in Bluetooth, and also able to enter the security code, and it does say it is connected, but I cannot seem to get a signal from it. On the GPS receiver, the bluetooth light is supposed to flash every second, to show that it has a connection, but it is flasing every 3 second, which means it does not. I have tried the GPS receiver connected with a PC, and it worked, and had to select something like SPP Slave to get it to connect. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this connected and working. Thanks in advance Steve G.

Hi Steve, I am having the exact same problem as you but my receiver is a Sirf 111, what rom is your C500 using?, I am using the latest Orange UK one - perhaps there is a problem with that. pips

Thanks in advance Steve G. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have a C500 using the latest Orange ROM (4.2.1.1) and a Nemerix based BT77 GPS receiver. When I created a new pairing with the unit, everything worked fine, but as soon as I switched the GPS or phone off and back on again, the two wouldnt reconnect unless I deleted the pairing and re-created it. I've since discovered that by unticking the 'secure connection' checkbox when creating a new outgoing COM port to use with SmartGPS they will now happily reconnect if I switch either off and back on. Solved the problem for me. Actually, thinking about your question, did you create an outgoing COM port for your GPS device? You didnt mention it in your post. If you didnt, you will need to. My problem is this .. have the software installed and running ok - the BT gps receiver is listed as one of my BT devices (linked to my c500) when i run the software and try to select "other gps receiver" it keeps telling me to link the two together.. reading about the "coms" there seems two options - com 6 and com 7 .. i really havent got a clue if i should be selecting or deselecting these - at present they are both checked.. sorry for ramble but cant figure it out many thanks

Guest beersoft Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 tell you what read the first post i'll paraphrase it for you "how do i get tt5 working with other gps" if your struggling with it, find an adult to read it to you, then ask them to explain the forum rules but if you want to know, the key points are bond gps enable outgoing comports, read manual supplied with tomtom later Owen

With over 6,600 post you would think the "why don't you buy it" bug in your ass, would of died long ago  Later Owen(d)

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 And on that note Topic Locked Dave if you your question is not tomtom related then it would be better to start another topic stating the software you have in question as they are all slightly different.
