Guest rashah Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Does anyone know a video news site that works with SPV's Media Player? many thanks
Guest ajb3000 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 if there were one, you'd have to re-mortgage your house to be able to watch it.

Guest rashah Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Hmm, so nothing there huh?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 In the UK at least due to licensing laws, its unlikely we will be able to watch live feeds for a fair while yet. Detector vans won't work, and people all over the world will be able to watch TV "our" license money pays for. Not overly sure about the advertisment funded channels though.... Oh, and the BBC news website does broadcast past bulletins over the internet. in .rm format though :/
Guest Firaas Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 In the UK at least due to licensing laws, its unlikely we will be able to watch live feeds for a fair while yet. Anyone got a TV card they'd like to stream? Been looking at getting one for a while, now might be the perfect time...
Guest Gorskar Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 You can restrict a site to only allow access from IPs originating in certain coutries, so it's not so much a case of other coutries watching tv that we paid for. I honestly cant see many people using internet streamed tv as their primary viewing source, so I dont think tv detection will be too much of a problem. Its probably mostly down to bandwidth cost I'd imagine that we don't have it.
Guest Gorskar Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Btw, I have tv card, and a fast internet connection (10m uni LAN) so I suppose I could set this up, but I'm not sure how to do it, and also everyone else would only be able to watch what I happened to feel like watching at the time, if anything.
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Ananova.co.uk have video feeds read by a computer generated woman. http://www.ananova.com/video/ http://www.ananova.com/about/technical_hel...datechnicalhelp But you need to download an activex plugin and guess what. Its not signed. But I remember on the Orange site or it might have been the Microsoft site a picture of a smartphone with this news video on it.
Guest Bazz Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 There was one with US economy news on the Windows Media website I think...
