com ports

Ive read on other thread about selecting com ports via BTserialportsetup

and that "not to" select "secure pass through" (or similar)

now im confused or looking in wrong spot .. :??:

im going start/more/more/configurations/btserialportsetup

in there there is two boxs - inbound (com 6) and outbound (com 7)

there are no way of making any other options no further menus, you just select or deselect the boxs

is there somewhere else to look / do this

im using a bog standard c500 havent updated rom (whatever that will help with) and have decerted the phone...

advice is greatly welcomed :shock:

ok after reading on here  - im in the understanding it should be in the BT menu area of the spv c500 -

i just dont have it..  :cry:

once ive paired the device - it doesnt give me any further options - other than the three that were there b4 - new / edit / delete  :roll:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - I have to get this working b4 this evening

update - now have the msg - 'No vaild GPS signal' in TT

grr - spent almost 40+ hrs trying to get this to work

Dave - it wasn't until your 3rd post you mentioned TT - I assume you mean TomTom? You haven't said which version of TomTom or which receiver you are using.

There are LOTS of threads on getting TomTom to work with the C500 but couldn't you just email them direct? They should be able to talk you through the exact steps you need.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I use CoPilot which is completely different (and, in fact, does not need Com ports set up at all now).

Good luck with it and if TomTom can't help and you can't find the solution in another thread then I'm sure someone on here will be able to if you provide more information.
