Guest SilverDragon Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 (edited) ok, you two, I don't really know what the problem is, since I can use any sound I use for a ringtone as a sms ringtone. I am only using Wav-files so perhaps that is the reason (i think it has have a certain bitrate though). I'm going to answer your question anyway, but i think you might already done this Put a wav in the folder: Storage\Application Data\Sounds (for the SPV classic: IPSM\Application Data\Sounds ) Then go to your settings/sounds and be set sms message to the choosen sound. please tell more about the problem, Edited August 31, 2005 by SilverDragon

Hope you get this to work as its cool now i have sorted mine.
Guest manocheese Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 You need to use a program called SD Sounds, I had it on my E200 and I've just used it to set a WMA as my text tone on my new C550. I don't have a link but a quick search here on MoDaCo should find it.
Guest texmkr Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Hello there another Newbie! I've been looking at this thread as I'm having problems installing new tones in to the windows directory. The new wav files stay in the Windows directory but if I switch the phone off and then on again the newly installed files dissapear! I've tried placing the files using file manager on the phone and via active sync on the PC, any ideas as to why they are not staying put?? Many thanks in advance Manoj
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Welcome to the forum :) As you've just discovered, the Windows folder is rewritten when you restart the phone. Place them into \Storage \Application Data \Sounds instead.

Many, many thanks Manoj
