is there away to save .jpgs on the phone from IE?

they get saved anyway in /windows/profiles/guest/temporaryinternetfiles/content.ie5/

in there you will find a stack of garbage-named folders but they will contain all of your recently browsed images...

from there copy them to wherever you need/want them.

you can also delete these files with minimal worry when your device memory looks depleted.
