Hi guys,

I have been away from the smartphone for quite along time and after owning a P910i and a Motorola A1000 I have come back and got meself a TMobile SDA which up to now has been great.

I haven't been completely away from the Smartphone though as the missus has a C500 as well.

The reason I went for the SDA was that TMobile offered me it for free on a £26 a month contract with a free Co-Pilot bluetooth sat nav system and a 256mb mini SD card. This seemed like a really good deal to me.

So my main reason for posting is, does anybody have any SDA specific information they think I should know? I was tempted by the C550 with Orange but the Sat Nav deal swung it for me.

Is there any known problems with the SDA?

How does the SDA compare to other smartphones out there?

Any good software that runs a treat on the SDA?

I am in the UK if thats any help.

Thanks for any help and advice :)

Hi!! I love my SDA but sometime the grass is greener on the other side. Main issue for me is the lack of support from T-Mobile UK. By that I mean they dont have an rom update or even SDA games (just java) on their website. The only thing I found was the online manual.

Lack of 8way joypad means some games are crap and that moving right can sometimes not work.

just making my dinner so will update you later. :)

Hi - i own an SDA music which i think is superb. The only problem i have had compared to C500 owners is that the joystick tends to accumulate dust and crap around it from pockets etc and stop it responding in certain directions a bit. Someone on the forums here advised me the best way to clean it is to 1st use the corner of a sturdy piece of paper to get out the big bits, then get yourslef some compressed air to blow out the rest (i got some off ebay for a fiver). Dont feel bad though cos all the owners of the new C550 will start to find the same problem soon aswell ;-)

In terms of software i dont think there are any issues with software working on other smartphones but not SDA's. I havent seen/experienced anything like that and just treat my SDA as if it were a C500 for software compatability and it works fine for me.

Enjoy!

ps i recommend Papyrus as the best calendar/tasks app, and the same company (SBSH) have released a beta homescreen plugin called Facade which displays all your tasks & schedule on your homescreen.

Thanks for the info so far guys :)

One thing I noticed was I downloaded the trial of Dougie Lampkin with the view to buy it but could not find it listed for the SDA on Handango or Clickgamer. I had to download the SPV version which runs okay but I cannot get the volume up and down buttons to work in game? I thought this might just be an issue with that game but when I tried running Duke 3D I had the same problem with mapping the volume keys and them not working?

Seems I can't use them in gamewhich makes playing stuff in Landscape mode a near impossibility.

Cheers for any advice.

Hi

Was this from a dealer or T-Mobile direct, sounds very tempting to me?

It was straight out of our local TMobile shop.

I will receive my SDA Music in a few days from a german ebayer. I am in Portugal. Here we haven't tmobile. But I wanted a SDA Music so much and I bougth one. I already have a C500 and I like it.

Now my question: Anyone of you have installed a qtek or i-mate rom in a SDA music? If so, did the sound dedicated keys continue working?

Thank you.
