Ringtone problem

My smt5600 goes to the sounds in the storage on the phone and it shows the mp3s but when i go to done to set them it does nothing has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone help me solve it

Is your phone updated to the new ROM that handles .mp3 as ringtones ? Do u have any other player installed than WMP ?

From memory I do not think there is a ROM update for the 5600 that can handle MP3 ringtones. You would have to SIM unlock your phone and try to install the update from Orange for example. Just for running mp3 ringtones updating the ROM is not worth it when you can use wma which are smaller for the same quality.

U r right there is no ROM update that i know of for 5600 ,but most of the people here on MoDaCo update their phones ,so i assumed he updated to Orange ROM, about the .wma as ringtone what can i say i use it allthough i can use .mp3 as rintgones ,anyhow one of these days i had a problem when i associated all media files with Beta Player the ringtones in .wma format failed to start when recieving a call,so i wonder if associations to other players may not b the problem in his case.
