hi guys i have this phone and the problem is it is locked not sim locked but the phone is lock every time i press a key it say wrong password please try again .so i was wondering if there is any software which i can clear it thank dave i really need you help on this because me brothers flat mate died on thursday from a fit he was 28 years old and the reason we need to open the phone is to let all hes mates know about his death,i don't think we can ring orange up or ask his mum beacuse she is in a right state , the screan say This device is locked. enter your device passwordand press the unlock softkey. thanks dave

First off, sorry to hear about your mate.

Second, the whole point of the lock is to make the phone secure. What phone is it? Did he have a computer, in which case his contacts should be in Outlook if he synced. If bot AFAIK there will be no way to deactivate the lock. A hard reset will do it but that will also get rid of all the data on the phone. If the phone is with Orange he might have backed up to them but they won't give you the info (Data protection act)
