Guest removed-2 Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Ok, here we go:- - I have a C550 that I have managed to get TomTom Mobile 5 running on (using the logical x y pixel temp fix). - I have got a Global Sat BT 335 device which has been discovered. - I have Incoming Port (COM7) set under COM Ports - TomTom is set to use "Other" type of GPS device With the above configuration TomTom works a treat, however no other GPS tools do such as Mapopolis, GPSDash and the New GPSTuner even when setting them to the incoming com port 7 In order to get these working I have to crate a new Outgoing port on COM 6 and set the app to use this port. With this done, all of the above GPS tools work but TomTom STOPS WORKING. Basically it never finds the GPS device when loading tomtom. If I delete the Outgoing port, TomTom work fine again but all other apps above STOP working again. It would appear that TomTom only works when there is a Incoming port set under BT settings and all other GPS tools need the Outgoing but TomTom doesn't seem to like this. Is there a way for all to work together?? Thanks Mark
Guest removed-2 Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Come on guys, surely someone here has experienced the same problem? Did you get around it? Thanks Mark
Guest roma0803 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 So far I haven't been able to get other GPS tools to work on my MPx220 with TTM5 installed. In my case (as with orhers with the same phone) the phone completely lockes up when trying to use some other GPS tool. On the MPx220 you can't change much on port settings, there's one COM port, period.
Guest JorgV Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 It's even worse with me :-s I experienced the exact same problem you describe (ingoing/outgoing ports with Tomtom and other GPS apps), but with me, I cannot get TomTom to work anymore at all!!! I uninstalled the other apps (GPSTuner & GPSdash demos), tried resetting all bluetooth parameters, but still no-go... Tomtom won't find my GPS device. Ofcourse it still pairs alright with my c500... Is there anyway to get this working again??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 TomTom uses it's own BT stack and this may be the problem, is there a problem if you use the original TomTom GPS unit?
Guest sooty2 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 To get other apps to work alongside TomTom mobile, delete the incoming port. You only need the outgoing port. Configure other apps to use the outgoing port and TomTom will just sort itself out if you select other BT GPS. Sooty...
Guest johnsiddle Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 (edited) I had a similar problem. Tomtom3 ok with a DC210 Bluetooth GPS, but GPSTuner... no chance just kept locking up. Eventually gave up with GPS Tuner. Then got Tomtom5... Bluetooth GPs bonded but tomtom could not see it neither could GPSTuner. I then purchased a wired GPS Mouse which connected as com1.. Now Tomtom5 sees it as a TomTom Wired GPS and GPSTuner sees it on com1, all works fine now. Hope this helps John Ok, here we go:- - I have a C550 that I have managed to get TomTom Mobile 5 running on (using the logical x y pixel temp fix).
