Guest pugzi Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) Hi, I've read all the topics in the forum, and been though the C500 BT activesync guide, but alas no connection yet. Firstly when I try to connect on the phones active sync via bluetoth is says :opening port...." then " Cannot start communcations, the communications port is not available or is being used or not valid. So set up a com port for the bluetooth on the PC and it has com port 12. I got to active sync on the PC and try to select com port 12 but it's not listed, it only list IR, com 1 and com 3. Please helps, this should be easy i think Steve Edited August 25, 2005 by pugzi

Guest jimbouk Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) Well, as is always happenig to me, I find the solution at last through hours of hard graft. If you have a similar problem to high com port numbers and busy or inactive com ports messing up your bt activesynce then click here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found it did it automatically as long as you delete the partnership in active sync and delete the bt bonding, then bond the phone from the pc (ie search for new BT devices from the phone). When the pc interogates the SPV for the services it offers/wants, you should see a few new hardware pop ups on your task bar including BT serial device, phone and standard modem. The pc/phone should then automatically provide the correct com port link. Connect the phone to the pc by USB cable to set up a new partnership, then disconnect it once its all sync'd and then try connect via BT from the phone. (If you try and do it by finding new BT devices from the phone, your pc's BT settings may not automatically set the com ports up correctly). Edited August 25, 2005 by jimbouk
