SPV C500 crashing computer

I don’t suppose anyone here can help me but I have recently had to reinstall Windows after the system kept locking up when the boot screen had finished. Now after an extensive reinstall of all my software I finally got around to Activesync and found that soon after plugin my phone in via USB the computer crashes horribly and will not pass the boot screen if the phone is left attached!

Bit of a nightmare, I have tried registry mechanic but to no avail. Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received!

What do you mean 'boot screen' ? Do you mean the bios POST information, or the windows startup boot screen with progress bar.

Since your PC isn't even getting into windows with the phone attached, I would have thought it would be to do with the USB host drivers you have installed for your computers motherboard.

Did it do this before you installed activesync?

Almost certainly a USB problem. Check your BIOS settings and MoBo manufacturer's website for known problems.

Try disabling the boot to other devices on the motherboard and try either turning the legacy usb driver on if the board supports this.

It sounds like the machine is seeing the phone as a bootable hard drive device and this is why the machine locks up.

Yeah the windows startup boot screen with progress bar. I didnt try connecting my phone again untill I had reinstalled Activesync. I also never used to have this problem untill my recent XP reinstall.
