Guest kristianheath Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Hi all, Fairly new to Modaco & my c500 smartphone. I've managed to get some home screens copied over and to appear in the home screen option under settings. However, I've noticed that some of the homescreens I've copied over DO NOT display the clock even though their thumbnail preview on Modaco shows that they should? Am I missing a pluggin or have I missed something else? Cheers for any help for this newb!
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Sounds like you are missing a plugin. There are a few different versions though so you need to go back to the skin page and find out which one the author has used.

Here's a link to the Tori Spelling homescreen that doesn't load properly : http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=dscrip...tails&f_id=1102 On closer inspection I'm missing the Carrier detail "Orange RO", the date, the time and also the profile listing "Normal". I dont miss these from other homescreens - how come? Cheers!
Guest cold_fire Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Yeah..just says "Enjoy!". Excellent work on the screens - I can't wait to get them looking good AND working properly! LOL. To install them I copied the contents of the Zip file into >Storage>Application Data>Home. I've tried using both the windows and 3rd party (can't find the name, but it uses a green and black butterfly icon) theme changer in case that made any difference - which it didn't. I've tried restarting the phone, that didn't help. I also use the "Red Beach" homescreen (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=dscript&CODE=showdetails&f_id=716) - which I get the carrier and time up OK on, in case you can use that for reference. [LOL - just realised this is ANOTHER one of yours Cold_fire!!) My phone is 'As-is' supplied from Orange, IE no firmware upgrading or flashing or app unlocking etc. I've noticed that if I scroll down to where the profile should be and click the profile window opens. Hopefully this will help diagnose the issue!

Is there a way I can factory or hard reset my phone like you can with a PDA so that it goes back to 'as issued' state? Maybe I've just installed something or configured something wrong in the time I've had it so far...
Guest Chiz Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Is there a way I can factory or hard reset my phone like you can with a PDA so that it goes back to 'as issued' state? Hard Reset Power off. Hold both soft keys (black ones under screen). Power on whilst these are held. Follow on screen instructions - press 0 when the screen is black. HTH

Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Decertify after a hard reset: http://www.modaco.com/This_is_how_to_app_u...ne-t206929.html Re-install the plugins then try cold_fire's homescreen.
Guest cold_fire Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Downloaded the file again and it looks Ok ,all the things in the preview are seen. The only plugin i have installed on my phone ,and that it is not used by the homecreen is the alarm plugin ,however i do not think it has anything 2 do with that .I'll try to detect the problem .

Now I get the time, then I get some text in HUGE font - so large that I only get the top portion of one letter!!! Then I can't see date, message summary o profile. Beneath the app list I do get Orange - but in a smaller font than on your preview! It looks to me as if the font settings for the profile aren't being used properly which is throwing everything out of place. Any ideas?

Guest cold_fire Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 It looks to me like the problem comes from the data field in the .xml file check the values form the .xml file and change them ,only with a trial and error u can make it work .I honestly do not know how to help u as it is over my power of understanding ,but i am determined to see what is the problem. :??:
