Guest chs_arg Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Wich are the big differences between WM2003se and WM5? It worth waiting for a WM5 device?
Guest davejerome Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Yes, what is the difference? Also i have heard that the SPV C550 will be able to run WM5.
Guest inlinesk8a Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 (edited) the diff is WM5 is illegal lol and contains many viruses/Bugs i dont think its made by Microsoft/Orange either Edited September 6, 2005 by inlinesk8a
Guest poulidis Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I don't know about the deeper OS adnancements, and since I am pretty satisfied with wm 2003 se, the most important difference between the two OS' is the menu. Wm 2003 se have a crappy menu, whereas wm5's rocks.

Also i think its time we move away from the pirate rom issue and back to the question of what the actual difference will be Edited September 6, 2005 by davejerome
Guest Pondrew Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 From what I've read Windows Mobile 5 is an evolution of Windows Mobile 2003 SE. There are lots of small improvements but few big improvements. Apparently Pocket Internet Explorer now features a progress bar. Many who have used it though have complained that the changes are too small and too minor... ...a major change is introduced to Pocket PC Phone edition though in that it will now have persistent storage whereby data will survive the battery running out. Nothing new for the Smartphone of course.
Guest Dark Horse Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 I think another major change is native support for wifi in WM5. Regards, Dark Horse

Guest muff Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 another thing to bear in mind is that lots of existing games may not work under WM5 whereas they work under 2k3 (there is a change in an unsupported dll that lots of game authors use for loading images)
Guest Pondrew Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Can be done with Wm2003 as well, a minor "hack" to fix that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? Tell me more... :o
