So many problems I don't know where to start

I am soooooo fed up. I bouhgt a used C500 on Ebay a few weeks ago and I cannot get it to work - I think I have been ripped off but am too honest to sell it on to someone else!

Basically, the phone was sold as unlocked. It came with a virgin mobile sim card but the display says T-mobile. I have tried three working sims in the phone and they do not work. I checked with Orange and the hone is not stolen and locked.

So then I bought a sync cable (it did not come with one) but my laptop does not even recognise that the phone is there! So I cannot active sync to it. I have the application unlock and Sim unlock the phone and also to reload the most current operating system but cannot do this unless I can connect it to my computer.

Anyone got any ideas on this one!!!!!!! :|

I suggest you reset the device using the hard reset link found at:

its always a good idea when you get a 2nd hand phone, but also very usful at sorting bugs

Next you might want to click on the 'First 48 Hours' link in my sig. Application & SIM-unlocking guides can be found in the C500 section, both pretty easy to do.

As for ActiveSync, if you haven't already got it on your PC you can get it direct from Microsoft here

Is virgin not technically t-mobile network anyway - hence why no worky with other sims?

thanks for all that - I should have mentioned that I am an original SPV user and have been through the growing pains of the two previous phone versions.

I had already done a hard reset and have Active sync 3.8 installed. The trouble is that the computer just does not see the phone when I connect it. I have all the other software I need including the updated rom and the Application and Sim unlock software.

Jut needs some ideas on why the computer can not see it. I am using a sensi cable that I got from ebay that purports to be compatible (it certainly fits) with the C500. I know I can by an official cradle from this website but am loathe to throw good money after bad if the phone is a dud!

Any other suggestions? I apprecite your help.
