Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 (edited) was doing a search for the new Mitac PPC phone...this one: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?...pc_revealed.htm and I fould this Smartphone: http://digital.ezit.com.cn/pub/article/c1839_a251693_p1.html Screenshots show 2003 OS but it seems to read as it qill be QVGA with 2005. ANyone have any readable news on it? Edited August 27, 2005 by nickcornaglia
Guest Pondrew Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I don't have any info to offer I'm afraid but am I the only one who finds it strange Mitac would designate two different devices with the same name? I wonder if the info on the site is correct but the pic incorrect (like the time pictures were posted of a non Smartphone Motorola but quoted as being of the Motorola MPX100). That doesn't make sense though given the screenshots show it running Windows Mobile... maybe this was an aborted model?
Guest markgamber Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Heh....if mitac wanted to do something strange they'd offer support for their overpriced last year's technology. And maybe fix their bugs in a rom update. That would be strange indeed. Short of that, they can cram it.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I liked the 8380 when I had it....but support was null....nill....whatever. The original site I found this on had WM2005 in the article but the site was .cz, so I couldnt read it. I agree, odd it had the same Model Number....we could guess 100 scenarios why/why not. It all ends in incorrect information/reporting. But there is a glimmer of hope that this could be the sucessor of Mitacs previous Smartphones. Let's hope. It looks nice.
Guest Pondrew Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 I'm still wondering what happened to Mitacs badged version of the Sagem My-S7. It received some publicity but as far as I know never went on sale...
