Guest morris34 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Thanks to anyone that can give me some advice. I've reviewed all of the posts related to this topic that I can find on MoDaCo and still can't find the answer. I have configured my mpx220 to act as a modem but can only connect to Cingular's internet service. Is there a way to configure the device to act as a fax modem to allow me to send documents to my office from my notebook computer? This would also allow me to connect to my own isp, though at a very slow data transmission rate. If someone could refer me to a previous post or forum, that would be great too. Thanks. Morrison
Guest martin Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 If you are dialling in to a fax machine then make sure that you have access to GSM CSD (Circuit Switched Data) calls on the Cingular network. You could try 'Wireless Internet' but I don't know if they limit the dialup to the WAP service. http://www.cingular.com/wipage2/0,,,00.html There is also the 'Data Connect' service which should allow general CSD calls. Cingular customer services might be able to help or someone else from this forum might have more info :)
