Guest spider Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Does anyone know if (when available) WM 2005 can be downloaded/implemented into the C 550? Sorry if this has been asked before....couldn't find any answer elsewere...
Guest Radeon12345 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 It's up to Orange if they want to give C550 users WM 5, I very much doubt that they would give out free upgrades  , but in my opinion I bet Orange would sell tons more C550 phones if it had WM 5 on it :)
Guest hotphil Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Orange have previously released fixes/updates but not upgrades as such. I'd doubt they'd be willing to pay MS an upgrade fee for each C550 and dish it out. Besides, what benefits does it really provide to the average user?
Guest azamsaghir Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I am just an average user of smartphones and that too is my question. What key advantages does WM 2005 have that the existing C550 operating system is lacking? Rgds Azam
Guest spider Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 @Radeon12345 So what you are saying is that it IS possible to install WM2005 in the C550!? maybe they (O) does not offer this upgrade, but it would not surprice me if some did some sort of tweak so it would be possible to download it and install it....
Guest Pondrew Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 There is currently no Windows Mobile 5 rom for the HTC Hurricane (C550), official or otherwise.
Guest SilentlyScreaming Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 (edited) There is currently no Windows Mobile 5 rom for the HTC Hurricane (C550), official or otherwise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [Post edited, see post below]...Apologies if those links are not allowed, please do edit them out, but as mentioned at SPV Developer, all discussion assumes you would only ever responsibly use legally owned roms.... Guest Pondrew Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 No discussion of illegal roms NOR theories on how to implement them please folks. The disclaimer would be fine but for the fact there IS no legal Windows Mobile 5 rom available to be owned! Topic locked (IF Windows Mobile 5 gets released as an upgrade you'll read about it in the news pages...)
