Orange Upgrades :-) to :-( to :-)

Just spent 30 mins on the phone to orange upgrades and the inconsistencies in the upgrade route and charges completely sozzled my noggin!

called on tuesday and was offered the M500 free with £75 upgrade fee (no fee if done on 26th Aug) - wicked!

Called up today(26th) and was asked for £175 for the phone!!! WTF i thought, thisis not right. Explained that i'd been offered it free and guess what........straight through to retentions.

Lady in retentions explained i CAN have the phone free but it involves losing my free 500 txt bundle. Was going to complain saying it goes against all the blurb in their advertisements about existing customers being valued etc....

well, after agreeing (albeit with hesitation) i was passed through to upgrades again and lo and behold i was again offered the 500 txt package again! (for free)

Its all so confusing, i know if i quoted my customers a random price each time they called they'd soon leave and use our competitors. It strikes me as a 'well, we'll try ity on, and if they've got a bit of savvy then we'll back down' way of doing business. very strange in this day and age.

well, at least its all done - only gotta wait till tuesday now (bloody bank holidays!) and should be receiving a shiny new M500! yay!

feel like a kid waiting for christmas to come - in some ways we never grow up eh?
