Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 (edited) Very annoying dead pixel, less than 7 days old, what do I do!? Could I get it replaced? Edited August 26, 2005 by Xenzo1990
Guest fluffcat1 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Is it an upgrade, new connection or bought offline? I don't think you can send it back as 'faulty' as 1 pixel is within specs. You have 7 days to return upgrades / 14 for new connections IIRC. Just say you want to send it back, you don't have to give a reason. Then get it as another upgrade / conection. If bought offline, invoke the distance selling regulatiuons to return it. Whatever you decide to do, do it quickly. HTH. Richard
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 It was an upgrade. If I send it back, does that cancel my contract or does my contract still exist? Also, if the contract still exists can I upgrade again after sending it back?
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Another thing, wouldn't they be suspicious? Sending a phone back, then buying the same one?
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 update: it now looks like its a spec of dust and is now un noiceable when the screen is on. thx for help ne way

Yep, it doesn't cancel your contract, it still exists, and once they've checked the phone back into their system ( 10 days so they reckon, I kept hassling daily as I had no working smartphone and the day after they received it they let me have another) you can upgrade again but you may not get the same deal you were offered. If you didn't keep your old sim it could be an issue though as they expect the sim back. As an aside, what happens to orange's returned phones? Never seen any refurbs for sale at the likes of CPW outlets - do these become the insurance swop stock? Richard
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 i think ill survive now anyway, cba sending back for sumut barly noticesble
Guest MitchellO Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I had a dead pixel on my Mini, and I was able to swap it (after some haggling) for a new one. A green dot right in the centre of my new PDA Phone was not going to go unnoticed.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 this one is now un-noticable withmy screen protector on, so i dont think ill bother swapping it. seems lots of hassle for a barely noticable problem

On my Qtek S100 there was a white pixel showing in the middle of the boot image. Once I upgraded to the current latest firmware it's back to normal.
