how do u use the unlock download on your smartphone?

Also will also need

a USB cable,

MS ActiveSync installed (free from Microsoft site - recommend latest

version) and a working orange sim.

You will need to copy the cert.cab file onto the phone (use explorer or

active sync-explore) then execute the cert file via FROM THE PHONE (using the phones File manager, found under Accessories)

If the instalation of the cert.cab file fails then you need to APPLICATION

UNLOCK the phone 1st this page shows the easyist (and quicker than the

orange site) way to do this here, using the registry editor (works on

c550+500)

then try the instalation of the cert file again - (you might have to copy

the file to the phone again) should be ok now.

then run the spservices exe from the pc (while connected to the internet)

works on c500 and c550

Before I wreck my C500, can someone help me please!

I've got the UK Orange C500 and I'm in the US for a few weeks - will the unlock allow me to use a US SIM card in the phone? I'm hoping not to have to buy a cheap crappy handset for my time over here...

i won't make any rash promises but my C500 is unlocked and works with dutch AND french sim cards... hopefully it will be the same when you go to america :)

What can I say but God bless the good folks of Modaco! 100% success unlocking!

Bizarrely, the bloke in the T-Mobile shop said he'd never seen anything like Mapopolis NY running on the C500! He reckons he could shift them at 500 dollars a pop!

hey deano I think if you have the phone sim unlocked it will work in US but you can also get it temp unlocked so if you upgrade u bak t square 1.Plus phone is triband so should work abroad.
