Guest gianmarco79 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 (edited) Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to set transparency/opacity to selected items on the homescreen or in the start menu ?? I mean the color that appears when you select something... Thanks Edited August 27, 2005 by gianmarco79
Guest simon211175 Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 not directly. Without knowing too much about what you want to achieve, you can create the appearance of transparency by using seperate background images for selected/unselected plugins.

Happy I did a search...er, well, maybe not since someone is saying you can't do it. :) Well, here is maybe a hint? I am not a programmer (per se...I can whip up a mean VBScript though...). The Fizz Traveler package for WM2K3SE has a home screen plugin that does this very feat. It looks beautiful when you have a wallpaper of say, a really hot redhead or something. It basically darkens the background underneath the plug in when it is selected, a very nice shading effect instead of the default opaque selection highlight. Can some coding XML genius figure out how Fizz Traveller does it with their home screen plug in so we can duplicate it with the other (default) plugins? Or maybe come up with a way to somehow capture the background under the plugin and make a background the same but with the color channels reduces (to affect the desired dimming)?
Guest simon211175 Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 as far as I know it's dealt with in the actual program behind Fizz rather than simply something you can stick into the xml code. I've done a few themes where the selected plugin displays a different image to when unselected - you can find examples here to see if they help at all :o
