French SPV C500

I bought (unknowingly) a French SPV C500. I have application and sim unlocked it but when I put my UK PAYG Sim in it just says "Denied, Searching..." The Sim works on other phones including my E200.

Does anyone know of another way to COMPLETELY unlock the phone so that it will accept my sim - don't mind paying as I am at the end of my teather!
