Problem with backlight

My backlight occasionally (randomly) sets itself to the lowest light... It's not a life or death situation as theres just about enough light to get to the backlight settings page, but it's irritating... anyone know of a fix?

Yeah I know of a fix:

Go to your manufacturer's webpage, and then locate the closest service center. Grab your phone, get there nad tell them to fix it!! :)

No kidding. Sorry but this hasn't occured to me ever, and I really think that it is ahardware problem, since I 've never heard anyone with it before.

I have the same problem with my M500, but I also get it with my Dell Axim X30 running Windows Moble 2003 SE.

I had it down as s/w, or perhaps its a side effect of something I've installed on both ??

Guys you got me here, I was being a smartass and now I see that others have the same problem. Have both of you tried to contact custmer support for your phones? They may know the answer, although you may have to leave the phone overnight.

I've seen this on my M500 too. When you turn it back on the brightness is down to zero so you have to navigate through the menus and turn it back on.

I expect it'll be solved in a ROM update but I'm not annoyed by it enough to endure Orange "customer service" to report it!
