Using Skype with a WiFi card

Hi,

At the moment I've got a C500 and love it! Upgrade is in 3 weeks and I'm thinking of getting an M500. Initially I wanted an M2000 due to the built in WiFi, but the extra size, cost, and keyboard I'm unlikely to use has put me off.

Only problem is that as far I can see the M500 runs Windows Mobile (the same as the C500 and not Pocket PC edition??), and on the Skype website it only has software for Windows Pocket PC. ON the other hand I saw this article http://msmobiles.com/news.php/3854.html saying that the CEO of Skype has a Windows Mobile based phone, surely he wouldn't have a phone he couldn't use his company's own product on?

What do I need to do to get Skype to work on the M500 assuming its possible?

Sorry for the babbling, I'm ready to stand corrected on any of these sketchy details!,

Thanks,

Mark

Just saw this post on the Skype site http://forum.skype.com/viewtopic.php?t=262...light=imate+jam someone half way down talks about the HTC Magician so that has answered my question!

Errrr, the M500 is a Pocket PC (Phone Edition), and yes, Skype works.

What i want to get going is VoipCheap (free calls to landlines), just not got round to upgrading my flat to WiFi yet.

As far as i know (not looked too far into it yet) is that you could set up VoipCheap on X-Pro, thus meaning free calls (and discounted ones) when in a WiFi spot without paying Orange a penny!!

I installed Skype yesterday and so far have only called the echo123 service b ut that worked OK. I think you'll need to free up as many resources on the phone as you can to help it run smoothly though.
