Guest merwin Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I think this is not possible to do this, but there might be a utility to do it (which is why I'm asking) Basically, I want to download a file from a website. Easy enough. You'd think that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, would allow this. However, it doesn't seem possible. Is there any way to do this, or any software that will? I've got an SMT5600/C500/Qtek8010/SP3 Thanks
Guest bennish Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I've never had any trouble dude. You just click on the link, and whatever it's linked to, should download. As far as I know Microsoft's wisdom is fine... I've never had a problem downloading a file. Do you mean an image file?? If so there's a browser called FTXP browser that does this.
Guest merwin Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 (edited) You did this on Pocket IE for Microsoft Smartphone 2003? I get: "This file cannot be viewed on this device" Edited August 30, 2005 by merwin
Guest Tanko81 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 You need to download Izip i believe.
Guest merwin Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 That takes care of one file extension... only a few more to go (for the common ones that I use, at least)
Guest bennish Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, that was on 2003 actually, on an MPX220. I could even download realplayer streams. Odd... what are the other extensions you're trying to download?
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I don't think I've ever downloaded anything directly to the phone other than files that are specifically designed for this. GPRS costs tend to rule this out for me  However, if you have Binarys' Smart Explorer hit File, Open, Manage File Types and scroll down to the type you wish to download there is an option in Edit to allow IE download.
