Guest nevawlkalone Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Two things. How can i unlock my C550? I have tried the tool from SPV-Developers and it doesnt even load the software on my PC. And How do i set my MP3's as msg tones? they are in thew correct folder but arnt seen in the msg tone section only the ring tones.
Guest agent.m Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 imei check is where you need to go. may cost £20 but then you get it unlocked straight away ;) as for mp3 you will have to look in the device specific section. I'll have a look in a minute. :)
Guest nevawlkalone Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 i got it sorted. They have to be converted to .wav files to be message tones. Thanks for the IMEI thing
Guest agent.m Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Downloading and installing sounds By Gears Windows Mobile 2003 allows you to use WAV sound files or WMA files as ringtones. This means you can trawl the entire internet for a WAV file, then simply drop your phone into the cradle and copy it across. Heck, you can even download WAV files from here at CoolSmartPhone.com ! To install, just sync your phone, then go to "My Computer->Mobile Device->My Smartphone" - you should see this.. Go to .............. \Storage\Application Data\Sounds If you don't have that, it may read "\IPSM\Application Data\Sounds" Either way, if the "Sounds" doesn't exist - create it. 2) Copy the WAV / midi file over to this directory. 3) Now on your SmartPhone, go ... Programs->Settings->Sounds ..and you should be able to select the file from there! NOTE - With Windows Mobile 2003 SE (Orange SPV C500 and above), you'll be able to copy music files to the "Storage\My Documents" folder. This is fine, and will work just the same as the instructions above! :) UPDATE - With some newer models, and following the update to the C500 you can now copy sounds to your storage card and use MP3s as ringtones. To do this, copy sounds to... \Storage Card\My Documents ...and they should then appear in your "Sounds" option on your phone. MP3's can be played as a ringtone if you've got Media Player 10 borrowed this from coolsmartphone cheers gears
Guest agent.m Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 so you can have mp3 as ringtone but not as message tone??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Yep Also the bit about having ringtones in Storage\My Dcuments it was possible to do that on 2002 as well :)
