Guest sprocket87 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Hey all, how do I turn off my audiovox 5600's net access? I just cancelled my unlim data plan for the time being and I don't want anything accidentally or unknowingly racking up data charges. Is there a way to turn it off so I only connect manually? I have Cingular, I think it is just a GPRS connection... thanks! Jesse
Guest martin Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 You can go to Settings-Data connections and delete the GPRS connections. That would prevent any applications using GPRS :)
Guest sprocket87 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, but then if for some reason I want to manually connect I can't. I just stumbled across this page, but there isn't really a solution: http://www.modaco.com/lofiversion/index.php/t222181.html Some say that holding the home key brings up a quick menu that allows you to turn it off, but I have no such menu - the home key brings up pIE. What I did for now is just created a second GPRS connection called 'dummy', left all the uid/pwd/ip stuff blank and set it as my default. If I want to use GPRS I'll just switch to the exisitng Cingular GPRS connection. A bit of a pain though :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 The Home key quick link option is on the Orange C500 and not the Audiovox. Moved to Help and Advice
