SPV e200 Powering Up Problems

Easy guys, i have just bought an spv e200 orange phone but all i got with my phone was an 8mb SD card and a In-Car charger, the phone was working fine.. untill the battery ran out just as i had it hooked up to activesync on my pc via I/R.

Prior to this i had charged it for an hour or so in my car and it charged fine with its little orange light lit up and stayed on meaning it was charging properly and it did give it a bit of power. I then turned it on later that day and was just loading a few apps before the battery ran out...... my phone switched off so i went to my car and tried charging it when i plugged the charger in, the light on the top left just flashed once red, i tried it again and the same happend, then i tried it again a few hours later and the light stayed on red, left it for 10mins thinking it was charging ok but then i tried to turn it on and nothing. I then tried again and it again and just flashing on once red as i put the charger in then the light goes off. Today im going to get a wall charger from a mate who also has an spv e200 and see what that does but i hope it hasnt packed in on me as i work 4 nights a week and this phone will be my savoir on those boring nights at work you see...

As is has such a small memory could it be anything to do with that? Would a soft or hard reset sort anything? or maybe i just need a proper charger as the one i used is a 4.99 car charger jobby.. but whatever the problem is i hope you guys can help as you seem to know alot on the e200 as ive been reading your topics/adds. Help is much appreciated and i do appreciate this free service and the time you guys put in, thanks alot.. maybe someone has the same problem?

Welcome to the site :)

When the battery gets too low the wall charger seems to be the only way to charge the phone.

Just leave it plugged in for a few hours before trying to power it back on.

As for SD card it's best to buy the largest you can afford, 1GB cards are getting good value for money now and not related to the problem you have.

So bassicly your saying when the battery totally runs out a car charger will not do the job?, a big sigh of relief when i read this reply and a big thanks to you knowing that my phone isnt packed in, i understand this from reading up on other related topics but didnt think for some reason... so a wall charger will do it, will a usb act as a wall charger as ive orderd just a usb and not the wall charger so im going to get my freinds wall charger and try this then hopefully if it works keep the battery from totally running out and use the usb to charge from then on. Thanks for the reply man and hopefully ive found the answer to this disaster once i get hold of this wall charger, cheers
