Guest andsome Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 (edited) I have a new C500 which I have got unlocked. When I put my vodaphone SIM card in, it boots up OK and finds the network. However I cannot make or receive calls. If I try to ring it, I can a short wait then a recorded message stating "There has been a fault". If I try to make an outbound call, it makes an effort and then disconnects with a call time of 00:00 Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong and how I can fix it! Thanks, Andrew PS - I can send/receive SMS no problem, and connect to the network to change call settings. It's just calls themselves that are the problem. Please help! Guest martin Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Where did you buy the phone ? Are you sure the IMEI is not barred ?
Guest andsome Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I got it from a phone store on-line. It is used though, so I guess the IMEI barring is possible. Is there a way to check? And wouldn't that stop SMS as well? Incidentally, I tried an Orange SIM with it and it failed to connect to any network. I've sent them some emails to see what they say.
Guest martin Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Orange customer services should be able to tell you if the IMEI is barred.
Guest andsome Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Thanks, I just checked with them. It is blacklisted. Great. I'll give the shop a call - I going to hope that they've recovered it from a poor creditor and forgotten to lift the blacklisting. Thanks!
Guest martin Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 It's a bit strange for a shop to sell a blacklisted phone :| Good luck and I hope you have no problems getting your money back :)
