Guest ambro Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Hi guys, looking to get a 1gb sd card for the Magician M500 to upgrade from a Sandisk 256mb card. Just looking around on forums but people are saying some do work and some dont! The obvious card that i was going to get is the ADATA Myflash 1gb 150x, due to its speed, however some of you saying this card does not work? So the question is what card do you use and what size is it? Thanks Ambro
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I use a MobyMemory 1Gb Mini-SD card, in an SD adaptor Perfectly fast enough for my apps, and WMAs in WMP, not sure what apps you need a high speed card for....
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I use a 512 SanDisk, from moby memory.

Guest psuc41 Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I got myself a 1GB 60x Scandisk SD card from scan, only cost £37 Streams videos really well using pocket TV
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Standard SD cards are getting pretty cheap, but I'd think about future proofing and look an the Mini-SD and Micro-SD cards You can't cut an SD to fit a new camera/phone/thingummy, but you can adapt an mSD to fit in a standard SD card slot
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I use a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB card which is fine but getting full up now  MobyMemory is a great supplier but their own brand 2GB cards don't work in this device.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Has anyone established whether the "Fast" cards are actually appreciably faster? This thread's got me wondering whether there's an advantage. I suspect that the speed gain is likely to be a few miliseconds per file action, so it's not going to make any noticeable difference unless you're copying hundreds/thousands of files... which you'd do via a card reader anyway. Anyone got any facts/figures to clarify this

Anyone got any facts/figures to clarify this <{POST_SNAPBACK}> here ya go some figures and process on how to get them! when i transfer using ActiveSync and my Magician i get speeds of about just under 2700kbps, you can find out by using analog x netstat live. http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm Install that prog and load it up comes up with a panel, right click and configure and it shows tcp/ip interface select the 127.0.0.1 and measure in bits! it will display the speed of transfer between phone and computer! Attached my sample... Rougly achieved 2600kbps using Sandisk 256mb Ultra II Sd Card (think its a 66x card).. Post your results if you can! see if we can see a difference! Guest chucky.egg Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Right then, not sure if this makes a difference or not (I think not, but I don't really know) - I was copying CLINE.DAT from the SD card to the PC, whereas it looks like you were doing it the other way around. My card is a MobyMemory 1Gb mini-SD, in a Kingmax adapter The average for Incoming and Outgoing seems to be 2612Kb (about 50Kb lower) The MAX (peak?) value though is 786Kb lower So what does it all mean?
Guest BAD dave Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Please help a newbie (i-mate JAM) Is my 1 GB to blame for these 2 error messages 1. When I try to back up using XBackup I get the following error message: "Unknown Backup Information Error" 2. When I try to import WMA files from my SD card into Media Player Library I get following error message: "The storage card media library cannot accept new entries due to a lack of storage space". But I know the SD card is only half full. Any help or advice appreciated! Thanks, Dave
Guest Alsicole Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 I have a Kingston 1GB from mymemory.co.uk. It's been great so far. Good read speeds etc.
