3g to replace adsl

When the HTC Universal comes out I was considering cancelling my adsl, phone line and current mobile and just getting the 1024 meg a month data tariff from Vodaphone for just over £50.

Has anyone got any opinions on whether this is a completely stupid idea or otherwise. 30meg a day sounds fine for browsing the web and letting my MCE box download new tv schedules / updates and listening to some radio 4!

Does anyone know if you will be able to share the 3g connection via WiFi (i know you can do it through bluetooth dialup profiles) so all my other pc's will have internet access when I'm at home?

Now that's brave!

What if your phone gets lost/stolen/broken? Life without the phone calls might not be so bad, but life without the internet would be intolerable!

I don't know the answers to your questions, sorry!, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on

That's party the reason I 'need' internet on the move. We lost the internet at work for two days last month and it was a complete trauma!!

This would be great, and I think that you will be able to share the internet connection with your pcs via wifi, since you can do it with bluetooth. But what if you wnat to download something? A video or a song or anything? You know 1024 megs isn't THAT much nowadays.

I would stick with my adsl connection and -if I ever get a wifi mini sd for my mpx220- share wirelessly with my phone.

I agree. My average usage is 2GB per month, just browsing, downloading smartphone software & receiving funny emails from my mates. If you start streaming video or downloading music, that gigabyte allowance is going to seem very small.
