Guest nsp Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Just had my M500 for one day and I just do not like it, I have found it to big in my pocket and it feels so heavy compared to my C500. On my upgrade delivery note it says you can return the phone within seven days if not completely satisfied. Has anybody returned a phone this way and how helpful are Orange when returning one. Apart from the bigger screen I just can’t find a good reason to use this instead of my old phone. I have all the apps I need for the smart phone anyway. I have been using the supplied case which makes it even bigger, and I am sure a slimmer case would help.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 You shouldn't have any trouble returning it to Orange, but with upgrades you do only get 7 days so don't hang about. The reason it feels bigger and heavier is that it is bigger and heavier than a C500, and it runs different software so you can't just whack your C500 apps onto it. It's a good device, but it's not for everyone, so send it back and try something else.
Guest Pondrew Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Yep. As Chucky.egg indicated it's an entirely different type of device being a Pocket PC Phone. Not everyone will get on with them... Sounds like you want to stick with the Smartphone platform. How about asking Orange if you can exchange it for an SPV C550? You might want to read up first on the compatibility issues it has with older Smartphone software...

I have put a few of my old apps on the M500 and they run great. And I do like the bigger screen. I think I am going to keep it and see if I can get used to the phone side of things. I will get a screen protector and slim case. If after a few weeks I still don’t like it I will go back to my C500, which is the best phone I have ever had and just use the M500 for sat nav etc.
