SPV M500

Hi to you all. I have just got myself the spv m500 and am very pleased with it, i have always been a big spv fan. The one thing that i cant seem to sort out is how to add mp3 ringtones to the phone and use them as sms alerts, i am asuming that you can do that?? also how the hang do you swith the phone off!! reading the handbook you hold in the red button on the side of the phone for 2 seconds. I could hold it in for 2 minutes it still would not swith it off, any ideas??

The M500 as its a ppc can not be turned off, they are designed to hibernate and not completely shut down.

MP3 ringtones can be added by opening the phone's files explorer, navigating to the MP3 you wish to assign, pressing and holding on the MP3 with the stylus so the menu pops up and selecting the ringtone option. I don't know about SMS though.

thanks for the reply, from what i gather you only have to drag and drop the wav sounds into the windows folder and then select from the list

but that still doesnt help with mp3's? i can assign mp3's to certain individuals for when they ring, but not set the default ring to be an mp3. any advice??? PLEASE!!

Copy the mp3 into windows\rings folder then you will bea ble to assign it.

There's also a little util on this thread that enables you to set them from anywhere. See the last post.

I haven't tried it myself but would be interested to hear if it does work or not.
