Guest fanie Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 I recently purchased Mobile Media Maker (SmartPhone) 1.3 from SmartPhone.net Upon installing the software I receive the following error message on my PC: "0005\F7\DGPDVDRipperStudio.ocx There was a problem registering this file. The installation will be cancelled" Any advice in resolving the problem would be appreciated... :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 I have just installed the trial version on my PC without problems. Are you running Windows XP ? Do you have Windows Media Player v9 or higher ? Do you have DVD playback on your PC ? I assume you do so you should contact the developer for help : [email protected] If you send them the error message they will be able to interpret it.

I assume that's what your PC is running? It's recommend to try trial versions of things first to make sure they run okay. :) I've contacted the developer thru the email Disco Stu provided before, and he replied quickly, so you should be able to ask his advice there. Alternatively, you could try and ask him to quickly edit his source and whip up a version for you that ignores the error as from my experience sometimes when dlls and ocxs can't be registered correctly at installation, the program will still run and function fine.
Guest dolphinsmile Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Sorry I don’t know what that error message means, but after purchasing Mobile Media maker I found the quality of the picture and the frame rate started to frustrate me. I contacted the people at Makayama software and they said that the limitation in picture quality was due to the hardware and was impossible to improve. Then I found out about PocketDivXEncoder_v0.3.50. It proves those of Makayama were wrong PocketDivX allows you to adjust any setting of the conversion. Even as dvd ripping software goes Mobile Media maker is poor.

Good for making 240x320 c550 movies as well!
