Guest Jamma14 Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Please help how do i remove music player and fireplayer from my SPV C550 im never going to use them so i dont want them <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doubt you will be able to as they are probably part of the ROM, not sure though as am still waiting for my c550 to arrive. You should be able to delete the icons from your start menu in a file explorer if them cluttering it up is whats bothering you.
Guest beauchambers Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 THANKS I WILL TRY MY BEST APART FROM THAT ITS A GREAT PHONE
Guest beauchambers Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 THANKS I WILL TRY MY BEST APART FROM THAT ITS A GREAT PHONE <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just tried that and you cant its a system file that i cant change there must be a way to do it surely?
Guest Jamma14 Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Just tried that and you cant its a system file that i cant change there must be a way to do it surely? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ermm...I dunno maybe try goin into smart explorer and change the file attributes (like unchecking the read only box if it is checked etc)??? Still haven't got mine yet so can't test it..
Guest Jamma14 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 (edited) Okay, the problem is the .lnk files have the system attribute (which can't be changed in any explorers) making them undeletable - I can't delete folders to help organise my start menu either. I'm the kind of nutter that needs things like his start menu to be perfectly organised and with no shortcuts that have a lower case letter like fireplayer - just bugs me! I always used to be able to delete and rearrange stuff in my start menu on older phones...anyone else have any suggestions?? EDIT: Mods, this might do better in the hurricane section...care to do a bit of moving? :o Edited September 6, 2005 by Jamma14

Guest ferret Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Have you tried app unlocking the phone then deleting them from a PC explorer window, via ActiveSync. From memory, this worked on earlier phones.

Guest davejerome Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Hi there, I am running my phone on 02 so things like the orange folder are of no use to me too. I just app unlocked my phone (as described on this forum), then ran activesync on my pc and clicked explore. Went to this directory on the phone: \Storage\windows\Start Menu Then deleted the orange directory, didn't think it would work but it has gone! Anybody know how to choose the order that programs are listed on your start menu (i.e 1 for Internet Explorer rather than messages)? P.S I don't want to use JAYO or some other program would rather do it in code.
Guest fozzie Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Try changing the shortcuts attributes to 'hidden'.
Guest Jamma14 Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 (edited) Try changing the shortcuts attributes to 'hidden'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> O yeah good idea...haha thanks for suggesting that so simple I didn't even think of it. Cheers fozzie :o :( Edit: Err actually it won't let you change the attributes to hidden. Probably because they have the system attribute checked... Edited September 22, 2005 by Jamma14
