Backup Battery?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been lately getting a warning about a low backup battery the I should replace or recharge on my MPx220 and the strange thing is that I have been getting this even though my main battery is fully recharged. Now after some searching I came to the conclusion that this is another battery inside the phone someplace that keeps the memory running so that I dont loose any information when my main battery isnt inserted.

Now could someone come with a little more information about this battery, like what type it is, where it is located and stuff?

Second question is would it be possible for me to replace it or maybe even better, recharde it?

And incase I must replace it, where might I get a hold of one?

Lastly, a not so important question, but it is more out of curiosity, why doesnt the smartphones use memory that retains the information even after the power is cut to it, like e.g the (mini)SD card does?

Thanks for all the help and answers :-)

You have different types of memory on the phone but like ppc they require power all the time to keep ticking over.

As for the internal battery it's possible the same or very similar to the MPX200 which is a standard small butten cell type which if you can take the phone apart it is possible to change.

Thanks for the help. Now how can I fix it.? Can I recharge the backup-battery in any way? Do I just need to do normal recharing of the battery and the backup-battery will be recharged too?

Incase I have to replace it, I've been looking at some pictures of an opened Mpx220, but didnt see any battery. Could someone if possible point out the battery on the pictures on this link Mpx220

Thanks for all the help :o
