Guest DJBenson Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 I installed Fonix VoiceDial on my MDA Compact but it's totally unusable in anything but the quietest environments - so how do you uninstall it? There is no entry for it in the remove programs applet.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Ye, I fancy uninstalling it too. So come on how???
Guest Moko 1 Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 I had exactly the same problem, the only way I found to get rid of the annoying Fonix button problem was to completly get rid of Fonix itself. The way I did this was to do the Hard Reset / Soft Reset described elsewhere on the forum, unfortunately the back up system failed to work so I had to reinstall everything again but it was worth it to get rid of Fonix and be able to asign a button for Voice Command.
Guest RazorD Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 The easiest way is to remove the autorun from the registry, and then it doesnt run... you cant really remove it all, cause you dont know where it hides any other files, but the .exe's are voicedial.exe and something other obvious in /Windows. Anyway, in ya registry editor, search for "voicedial.exe" and you should find a key inside an "OEM" folder thing, i think its name is "run". Just delete that, soft reset, and it'll not be there :o Obviously, that was the worst "HOW TO" in the world, as it was undetailed and from memory  As always, becareful fiddling with the registry. :( -Raz
Guest Palindrome Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Works a treat. No more annoying voices [outside my head, that is].
