First of all, welcome to Modaco. Now which device do you have? Try searchin g the forum for how to hard reset your device (specific model). Once you find out how, do it. It should then be fresh as new.

If your device is the mpx200, then the wm2003 (i think) is an illegal rom, but I haven't heard anyone having problems with it.

To find out which version you have go to Start>Settings>About. The first thing on the upper side of the screen, is your os. It should be windows mobile 2002 or 2003.

Hope I have been helpful, good luck.

Running the 2003 update will not improve matters with your gmc.

As for the Windows flolder there are indeed two folders and both are needed.

The Main Windows folder is basically the system ROM OS while the other folder IPSM\Windows is similar to the Windows file system on your PC at home and containg your Programs menu etc.

As the phone is secondhand I would do a HArd Reset and restore the phone to it's default settings.

A couple of posts to read for more information is Quick links found in the Help and Advice section, and The First 48 hours which will guide you on how to install software and make basic changes and settings etc.

If you have not unzipped a cab file by mistake, a simple homescreen ie XML and jpg layout should be placed in IPSM\Application Data\Home

Ah, sorry for the bum steer.

Maybe I'd better read it myself and refresh my memory on what's actually written there
