Guest Gordysmith Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 I have just bought an SPV C500. I am trying to set up the dial-up to my corporate network. My IT section have given me all the settings and server IDs. Everything was fine but it kept saying I was having a log in error. I have discovered that it changes my seven digit password to a sixteen digit password every time I save it. I enter a seven digit password, save it and go back in to check and it is a 16 digit password. I tried a hard reset, deleted all the dial up settings and entered it again clean. It happened again. Can anyone tell me how to stop the phone changing my password? :??:
Guest martin Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Welcome Gordysmith The password is always shown as a 16 asterisks as the actual password is encrypted and stored in the registry with 16 digits. Even a one digit password becomes 16 digits long :o What APN are you using as you possibly need VPN support ? For instance with Orange you would use APN internetvpn rather that APN orangeinternet.
