SPV C500 firmware upgrade

Hi

I've downloaded the firmware upgrade from the Orange website and would like some advice before proceeding.

I have previously unlocked the phone using the software on this site and use an O2 sim in the phone. Should I stick an Orange sim in it before upgrading or does it not matter?

Also will the phone unlock be reset by the upgrade?

I understand contacts will be lost so will back them up first. What about files on the memory card and phone memory?

Alternatively as this phone is badged by other companies, is there a generic upgrade that might be better than what Orange have available?

Anything else I need to be aware of?

Hey Geothermal,

Your phone will remain sim unlocked but will need to be application unlocked again (for certain homescreens etc).

Don't worry about the O2 sim being in there. Won't affect it.

And as far as I know the Orange update is as good as any.

the upgrade does not affect memory data but take it out just in case (memory card!)
