Guest BAD dave Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 I have just reinstalled TomTom Mobile 5 onto a new SD card. Now whenever I power the phone off TomTom disappears from the Start menu when I turn the phone back on. I then need to reactivate it from Smart Explorer program by navigating to Storage Disc...TomTom folder...2577 folder...and double clicking on the exe file. Tomtom then reappears in my Start Program list. Have I got an important launch or exe file stored in the wrong place? If so, where should it reside? Thanks, Dave
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 I presume you copied all the files directly over to the card, ie the root folder and not to a sub folder?
Guest BAD dave Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I presume you copied all the files directly over to the card, ie the root folder and not to a sub folder? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Folders: 3577a, GB-map, ITN, Palm, Raster, Schemes, System, TomTom, Voices & zip, and file setup.exe are all on the root of the card. Any suggestions? Thanks Dave
Guest Geeklord Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 have you tried manually placing a link in the start menu using smart explorer?
Guest BAD dave Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 have you tried manually placing a link in the start menu using smart explorer? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Geeklord. That sounds like a good idea. But how? Do I copy and paste an exe file into Start Menu?
Guest Geeklord Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 If you've got yourself Smart Explorer, first navigate to the exe file. select it (action key) and menu copy (or keypad 1) then navigate to where you want it. Storage\Windows\Start menu\ (a subfolder if you created one to organize your apps like I did) and menu paste short cut (keypad 3) Sorry took so long to reply, chap, heaps of work at the office :o
Guest BAD dave Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Thanks Geeklord! I have since sold the phone but I have passed on your words of wisdom in the hope it is helpful to the new owner. Dave
