Need Help! SPV M500 SMS Tones - custom?

Hello all!

I am new and a complete noob just got the M500 off work 2day! :o

Just wondering if / how you can add ur own tones for SMS/MMS alerts etc.. rather the crap default ones!

Do i need to put the .wav file in a certain folder??

They gave you an M500 at work ? Lucky guy !

Connect the device to your PC with ActiveSync and copy your alert file into the main Windows folder. It should now show up in Sounds & Notifications (or whatever it's called..)

Oh also ive seen on other threads people talking about an update, ive been on orange site and cant find anythings it like a firmware update??

Where i can upate my phone to the latest bios/firmware/what ever it is! :o

Go to Settings, System, Device Information.

If your ROM version is 1.12.xx then you're up to date.

Assuming you're got the Orange ROM loaded that is the latest for that operator.

Normally the ROM updates are downloadable from the Orange website under Help & Advice.

Installing another operator's ROM is not advisable for the new user and, being of questionable legality, this forum has rules on giving such advice. I doubt your employers would be happy either :o

All I can add is that you'll hear about Orange updates here first and I imagine they will have one in the pipeline.
