Guest PaulF Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 OK - I've had my M500 for 2 weeks now, and I'm starting to try and do the more complex stuff. We've got a Remote Access Server at work, which I can dial into, and once connected I am 'on the network' and should be able to access servers etc. I have set up a dial up connection under Settings, Connections, My Work Network, and I can dial this (and see at work that I am connected). I've installed Pocket Ping to try and work out what I can connect to, and the only thing I can ping is the RAS server itself. Is there any way to view the IP settings that the RAS server has assigned to the phone (it's set to receive them from the RAS). Also, when I try and set up Active Sync to sync to the server, it always closes the Work connection and starts up GPRS (and we haven't opened up the Exchange servers to the web, so this will never work) - but if I could get it to use the Dial up RAS connection, then in theory it should be able to sync (although I can't ping the Exchnage servers, so either the Ping app is not working or else I'm not connected properly....) Also just tried to use the Terminal Services client (which would also be useful) and that just connects to GPRS as well..... Has anyone got any experience of trying to do this sort of thing on a Pocket PC and can offer any advice?? Last thought (which is really unlikely) - anyone out there using the Juniper Networks SA series of Secure Access SSL VPN devices? We've got one, and you can log in via the web pages (assuming you're patient enough - it's very slow on GPRS), but they have a Windows Secure Application Manager (which does cool things on a PC like re-writing network calls so that 'normal' Client Server apps will run across HTTP) - but there is a Pocket PC version. but I'm not sure what you can do with it (yet!). I'm hassling our suppliers for more info, but I don't think they really know!! If anyone's got any thoughts / ideas on these problems, I'd be very grateful. Cheers, PaulF
