Guest TigerNet Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 ...as the title says??? nuff said... Cheers Nick
Guest hotphil Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I don't think it's designed to. But am pretty sure it will come off soon.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 It can come off, and can be put back on. Just give it a gentle pull, and twist as you do so and it should pop out. I removed mine when I got the phone, thinking that it would annoy me, and changed my mind a few days later and put it back on. Don't pull it sharply, it looks like it might snap if you do.
Guest TigerNet Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 ...cheers for that...I'll give it a go later...
Guest LadFromWales85 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Yes, it does come out. All it is, is a hole on the phone, in which a piece of rubber which is wider at the tip, sticks through. It is easily pulled out, and can be even easier (in my opinion) pushed back on. I took mine off out of frustration when I was using both the usb charger and headset at the same time...
Guest TigerNet Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 ...tried, but it seemed reluctant to come out, and I don't want to break it...am I just being a 'woos' or do I need to be careful?? Cheers Nick

Guest TigerNet Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 ...phew...I was starting to question my manly strength!!! Cheers Nick
Guest TigerNet Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 ...got it now!!! No guts, no glory... ...now, must make sure I dont lose it!!! Cheers Nick
Guest confused and hungover Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 ...got it now!!! No guts, no glory... ...now, must make sure I dont lose it!!! Cheers Nick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lol, did you just pull it really really hard? what a man! i'm just gonna leave mine on, i'm one of the few who actually like it :o
Guest TigerNet Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 ...pull and twist and ease the thing off (hoping desparately not to break it!!!) ...I agree that it looks good on, but a pain when charging/using headset... Cheers Nick
Guest markdotpeters5 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Yeah, I yanked mine off as soon as I got it. It would annoy the hell out of me otherwise!
Guest peekie Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 kept mine on , it save the phone when i dropped it , maybe its also a dust stopper as well :o
Guest markdotpeters5 Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 I took it off because it gets in the way of my 2.5mm -> 3.5mm adapter jack. If I didn't use that, then yeah I would have left it on. Gave it a test drive at the gym last night, C550+wmp10 = top mp3 player!
Guest thebeachbum Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 i kept it cos it means i can stand the phone up by resting it against a wall (as in the rubber provides enough resistance to stop it sliding if im none too clear). siksik6: what/where/howmuch on the headphones adapter?
Guest alexwils Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 Adaptor is £1.06 from Maplin - http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=1144&doy=16m9
Guest thebeachbum Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 ive seen these from various places but wasnt sure if it will fit, since those adapters only have 3 (as opposed to the 4 on the actual plug) contacts, so presumably the mic channel (if thats how it works) will be connected to one channel of audio. now im no expert on electronics..
Guest markdotpeters5 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I knew someone would ask me that. Honest answer is I can't remember, sorry :o I bought it ages ago for my e200, and have had it all that time. Try maplins / ebay I would...
Guest thebeachbum Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 weeellll.... if it hasnt melted your phone then thats just about good enough for me!
Guest alexwils Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) Yes works fine - the 2 bands are for the left and right channels, the 3rd is for the mic but if you're using standard headphones you won't need it. I've got one - no problems. EDIT - I'm going to file the plastic from around the plug of the adaptor so it fits better into the recessed hole of the C550 (after you take the stupid plasic cover off) Other than that it works fine Edited September 26, 2005 by alexwils
