MDA Compact vs SPV M500

Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I am 99% sure I will get one or the other :( .

I probably can get either 1 free and well each provider has a contract I am happy with :o .

I like the "look" of the SPV M500, a mate has one so I got a good look at it.

I seen a Jam in PC World, which is very similar to the MDA Compact, and I though it was OK.

They both run PPC 2003, the MDA Compact has been around for a while, whereas the M500 is not.

I see that there are some issues with the M500 and accessories (such as cases, docks, etc..)

So I am basically stuck on which one to get, any advice?

I went for the M500 - just on appearance. I'm not planning on getting any accessories so that might've swayed my decision.

Hi,

From what I can see the only difference is cosmetic (and the M500 is a tad bigger than the MDA.

I would guess the accessory angle is the big deal breaker/maker.

Yeah I agree with that.

the M500 is better looking, but considering I will be using it for my work I would really like a dock. But its not that important, I know you can get some cases for the M500 and probably a dock will come out soon(ish)

Damn its hard to make my mind up, but I am swaying towards the M500, unless I do not get a free upgrade. If no free upgrade then a MDA Compact it is as I want to keep my same number.

Can someone point me in the direction of some cases for the M500 that cover the Screen, but make the phone useable (i.e. no need to remove the phone from the case, like the one you get with it)

@Pabs(Sco), if you're still trying to decide, I'd recommend one of the 128meg ram versions (the Qtek S110 or the Imate New Jam).

I was considering it, but the qtek S110 is only available on O2 afaik.

My wife works in one of the out sourced Customer services had she says not to join o2 :o

As far as I know, the M500 is the same size as the MDA compact, but the MDA compact is 20g heavier (170g vs the M500's 150g). 20g isn't much, but still compared to <100g less capable phones, I'd still rather they both were lighter!

The M500 is similar in size but differently shaped most current Jam and MDA Compact cases dont fit the M500

Well I have decided.

If I get a free upgrade to then M500 then I'll take it, and if not I will get the MDA Compact :o
