So.. how long for the initial charge?

Also, does it charge through USB too?

The reason I ask is because I'm off on my honeymoon in 3 weeks, and I am serioulsy considering buying a PSP in dixons tax free (see post on deals..199+2 games) you also get a 90 day no quibble return when you buy stuff at the airport thanks to BAA.. but..

I want to use it on the plane, so couldi charge it while I use it from USB on my laptop, or I could use my in flight power thing, but..

- is it ok to use it while it's charging?

- what is the reccommended initial charge?

TIA

I think it's supposed to take about 2.5 hours for a full charge.

And it is able to charge via usb, but you need the right cable to do it. It doesn't charge through the psp's mini usb port. Most accessory packs have a usb/ac cable which will do the job.

Yes sorry, thats what I meant, from the USB port of a PC to the DC in port on the PSP.

What about using it while it charges? Anyone think it will be an issue?

Don't we have the 'charge it for at least 4 years before using it' debate now?

I think it will be fine. With batteries nowadays, it's not so important to do 16 hour charge first time. I've heard that they only charge to full capacity properly after about 3 normal charges.

I was too impatient to wait for mine to finish charging. I started playing right away, and I don't think it's caused any ill effects.

oooh... now you've opened up a can of worms..

I assume it's not bad to charge and play at the same time? What does the manual say re:initial charge?

The manual doesn't say don't play and charge. It just says that charging may take longer when you have the unit on while charging.

The only thing that I couldn't do during the intitial charge was the 2.0 update. I had to wait until there was enough charge on the unit to allow it.
