Guest jasnewt Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 (edited) Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations for voice dialling software? I have tried Vito Voice Dialler but it seems to have problems with the C550. When you try and input the registration details it goes all weird when you enter the final few characters, changing the previous charcters you entered. Basically I cannot input the whole email address and code that I was given. I'm guessing this is a problem caused by the new phone. An email to the makers of the software has turned out to be a waste of time, so I'll have to get a refund from Handango. The actual dialling part of the software works fine (the software is still in the trial period). I tried Fonix Voice Dial, but find that annoying because it forces you to listen to it repeat the name back to you and waits for you to tell it if it has selected the right contact before dialling. By the time you have done this you might as well have started the call manually. Any other suggestions? Can't believe Windows Mobile doesn't have this feature built in. Thanks! Jason. Guest mortalwombat Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 The phone has built in voice dialling. Open up a contact, select the number that you want to asssign a voice dial tag to, press the right soft button and choose "add voice tag". I'm sure you can work it out from there.

All that happens when you say the tag is that the phone repeats it back to you and displays the contacts list. It doesn't dial and doesn't even display the contact the voice tag was added to. Jason.

If I think of anything that might be causing the problem, will let you know.

Followed exactly the same method I used before. First 3 times it failed as before. Then it started working. Maybe the phone is very fussy about how far away from the microphone you speak the tag. Vito doesn't seem anywhere near as fussy, and hasn't failed once to get it right. The recognition still doesn't seem as good as with Vito, so I'd still prefer that to work, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with the makers of the software so looks like I'll just be getting a refund from Handango. Think I'll wait until the trial period runs out and see if the problems with it working with the C550 extends to it allowing you to carry on using it after the trial. Doubt I'll get that lucky! Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated! When I couldn't get it to work before I assumed that the voice tags were only intended for accessing menu options and programs, which would be a strange limitation. Jason.
