C500 interesting startup sequence

Hello,

received some more handsets today, 3 of the silver c500's display a startup info sequence on the orange splash screen as shown in the pic ( sorry for the blurriness - no flash ) which lists the following rather like a boot sequence:

Typhoon PV/DVT

IPL 1.00

SPL 1.0.1.0055

GSM 0.3.18.60

OS 1.1.1.55

OP 4.1.1.0

They seem to work ok. I haven't tried updating them to the current rom as I rather like the coolness factor - can this info be made to dispaly in the production rom? And if I leave them as-is are there any major bugs to be aware of?

Sounds like you've got hold of some pre-release C500s there.

If you look at the reported info it lists the OP (operator?) rom as 4.1.1.0. If I remember right the rom version on release was 4.1.1.1. Dunno if there's any value in it being a pre-release but would be interesting to contrast the pre-release rom with the newer roms.

Have you tried running any games software? Because it wouldn't surprise me if it still has the broken GAPI that prevented early C500s from running games...

I'll post on spv-developers see if anyone wants to try this rom...

Haven't put any games on one yet but I'll give it a go later. I've got the beta of street dual to try :-)

Checking the seriels on htceurope they're all still under warranty - if they were pre-release they would be out of warranty by now as I've had my c500 over a year,

but - there are no water check stickers on them near the sim gate, yet the warranty seals are intact, so perhaps they are development units? Full of dust though....
