Xcuse the nubie question!

Hi all, as the topic says please excuse the basic question but I'm looking to make my own home screen (basically I want to chop bits out of a few to make the screen I want.

I've run into a problem all ready with how to place the plugin. I want to add the oxios task to my screen, I've copied the xml code into an existing xml file but it just appears on the top of the screen.

Basicaly I'd like to know A. if there are any guide lines on writing screens, or B. if there is no A. can anyone tell me how to re-position my oxios plugin ?

PS- I'd like to learn the code way and not use any program to create my screens.

PPS- I've got a c550 if that make any difference
