Guest fluffcat1 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Apnomis mentioned in a previous thread that the plastic over the LCD on his silver c500 had cracked, and as the silver cover was rare, was it possible to swop out the plastic from another fascia? So I tried, and yes, it is. Remove the foam surround from the inside of the fascia and there are nine mounting points where the outer plastic has been melted to lock into the metal face. Melt these down with a soldering iron and the plastic can be pushed outwards from the frame quite easily in one piece. I've put it back in and remelted the points and it seems just as secure. There is glue tape around the plastic cover as well as the melt points. regards, Richard.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I was planning on getting a new fascia for mine soon. But I simply don't have the time to go out and buy all these things that it says i need on a site I looked at about removing the fascia :|

But I simply don't have the time to go out and buy all these things that it says i need on a site I looked at about removing the fascia :| A t5 torx, a t6 torx, a small philips, and a plastic knife is all that I use. I'm in manchester every week, I'll pick it up, fit it, and drop it off for a small fee if you also buy a fascia from me :-) Richard
